LLB, which is an acronym for Bachelor of Legislative Law is actually derived from the Latin term ‘Legum Baccalaureus’. Anybody who wants to practice law as a lawyer in India, is required to complete this course. For those who have just completed 10+2 level of study, they have the option of pursuing a 5 year’s LLB Course; while those who have completed their graduate studies, can pursue a 3 year’s LLB Course. LLB degree courses are offered across various universities in India, and most Universities have LLB entrance exams in place to select meritorious students for their courses.
However, there is one condition in this course, which is mandatory for every student of this course to fulfill. This condition requires every law aspirant to complete this course as a full time regular student from a college or a university. There is no provision for this course to be completed via distance education. Aspiring students who wish to go for this course after completing 10+2, can go for a number of undergraduate Law Courses like, B.A. LLB, B.B.A. LLB and B.Sc. LLB as well.
